Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor speaking, consultant, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. She has participated in 53 deals as of February 2020. The largest was a $350,000 investment that will pay for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. Her family often relied on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran says her father was a drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and disrespect. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. After flunking several courses during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
